Amber Capital seeks to improve OTE's corporate governance

The London-based activist hedge fund Amber Capital is once again trying to improve Greek operator OTE's corporate governance, according to the Financial Times. Amber Capital will propose former CEO at Telefonica Brasil, Alberto Horcajo, to take over as an independent non-executive deputy chairman and board member at OTE's annual shareholders' meeting on 12 June. Horcajo's candidacy is backed by Institutional Shareholder Services, a leading proxy adviser.
