AMC Networks in talks to buy BBC America - report

AMC Networks is in talks to buy a stake of almost 50 percent in the BBC America channel, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the private discussions. The sources said the BBC would be interested in a partnership that lets BBC America use AMC's advertising sales and distribution network. A deal is not yet assured, the sources added. AMC would pay cash for the stake. A partnership would let BBC Worldwide keep majority ownership of the channel and control the brand, while cutting costs and tapping AMC's programming team.
