America Movil sells Mexican football club stakes

America Movil has announced an agreement to sell its 30 percent stake in the Pachuca Group, which owns the Mexican first division teams Leon and Pachuca as well as the second division team Mineros de Zacatecas. The communications giant acquired the stakes in 2012, the same year its honorary chairman Carlos Slim paid EUR 2.5 million to take control of Spanish club Real Oviedo. In a statement America Movil said it will retain certain broadcasting rights for the three Mexican clubs, allowing it to continue developing sports contents via its different platforms.
