America Movil warns of increasing pay-TV piracy in Brazil

Thursday 21 October 2021 | 15:26 CET | News
The piracy of pay-TV content in Brazil has multiplied by three or four times compared with two years ago, especially after operators started to use delivery via IPTV technology, according to the director of fixed operations of America Movil, Oscar Von Hauske, reports Teletime. According to him, Brazil is the main victim of the trend in the region, followed by Central American countries. The problem was also highlighted by Claro Brasil CEO, Daniel Hajj who pinpointed it as one of the causes of the drop in customers in the pay-TV segment (-181,000 customers between July and September).
