Americanet has expanded its fibre broadband services to fourteen cities in Brazil, reachingn Carapicuiba (Sao Paulo) where a 200 km fibre optic network was built, reports Teletime. The operator expects to expand its retail customer base to 1 million by the end of 2022, taking its residential broadband service to at least 80 medium-sized and small cities over the next two years.
Sao Jose dos Campos (Sao Paulo) should be one of the largest and the company signed a contract with the local council to implement smart city services. Americanet has 18,000 km of fibre in eight states launched for B2B, which will be adapted for B2C. In addition to fixed broadband, the operator also operates in retail as an MVNO.
