Amtob concerned over Wimax spectrum pricing

The Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (Amtob) is concerned about the pricing of the 2,600 MHz spectrum for Wimax licences. In a letter to the government, Amtob says that the 2,600 MHz band is widely considered as the natural upgrade frequency of 2,100 MHz and that prices should not veer too far apart. Spectrum on the 2,100 MHz band has been priced at BDT 1.55 bln per MHz for the upcoming 3G auction while spectrum on the 2,600 MHz band is still priced at BTD 2.5 million, the Dhaka Tribune reports.
