Anacom publishes study on LSA spectrum sharing model

Wednesday 16 September 2020 | 14:04 CET | News

Portugal's National Communications Authority (Anacom) has released a study on the Licensed Shared Access (LSA) spectrum model in the 2.3-2.4 GHz frequency range. In order to overcome the identified peculiarities, a prototype technological system was developed from scratch, combining sensoring and geolocation capabilities to enable this concept of spectrum sharing (the "Warner LSA") in Portugal.

Tests conducted at the University of Aveiro in January 2019 concluded that the system for implementation of the LSA model in Portugal is viable and feasible, taking into account the suggestions proposed in this report.
