Analogue TV switch-off completed in Brazil's Ribeirao Preto and Franca

A group of 45 municipalities in the regions of Ribeirao Preto and Franca, in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo, have had their analogue TV signal totally disconnected from 21 February. The transition to the digital TV system should benefit 2.1 million people living in both areas. The switch off of the analog signal in the two regions occurs gradually, by determination of Gired, the group responsible for the implementation of digital TV in Brazil.
