Anatel admits possible delay to 5G auction

The president of Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Leonardo Euler de Morais, has admitted that the coronavirus pandemic has impacted the realization of 5G field tests and this may lead to a postponement of the 5G auction, reports Teletime. The regulator expected another month of field tests on potential interference in the 3.5 GHz band, but the Covid-19 outbreak ended up imposing movement restrictions. Other factors impacting the auction are the economic effects on companies, currency exchange rates, reduced consumer demand and possible problems with the hardware supply
