Anatel seeks comments as Claro disputes regulation of Fox and Topsports apps

Friday 14 June 2019 | 14:41 CET | News
Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has started a consultation with market players to evaluate the technical aspects of complaints filed by Claro Group against Fox Latin America Channels do Brasil and Topsports Ventures. In its complaints, Claro questions the regulatory framework for TV channel applications available on the internet for a monthly payment, in this case the Fox+ and Esporte Intererativo Plus apps. Anatel said Claro's disputes need clarification as to whether these services run on the value added service business model (VAS), or the conditional access model.
