Tuesday 24 July 2012 | 11:03 CET | News
Brazil's telecommunications regulator Anatel has requested Telefonica improve its fixed-line service and provide a mechanism for compensating customers for service interruptions. In detail, Anatel wants Telefonica to reduce service interruptions in the State of Sao Paulo by 40 percent. If it doesn't comply within five months, the operator faces a fine of BRL 20 million. Telefonica will also have to present to the regulator monthly reports with details on the actions and results achieved.
