ANFR issues warning about DECT phones in St Martin, St Barts

French national spectrum authority ANFR has issued a statement reminding residents of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthelemy that some DECT phones imported from the US, Canada and other countries do not meet European standards and therefore must not be used. Most of the handsets in question carry the label DECT 6.0 and work on frequencies that have not been allocated for phone communications in the EU. They cause interference on mobile frequencies and prevent the latter from working correctly. People in possession of DECT 6.0 phones must cease using them. Anyone caught using them by an ANFR agent
