Angola offsets Angosat-1 loss with satellite capacity provided by Russia

Monday 25 June 2018 | 18:13 CET | News
Angola's Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technologies (MTTI) announced that all the telecommunications services that were to be provided by the failed Angosat-1 satellite are being provided via alternate satellite capacity, under the compensation agreement with Russia, reports Angop. The compensation, at no cost to Angola, includes 216 MHz in the C-band and 216 MHz in the Ku-band to support all necessary services such as telemedicine and internet connectivity for schools, until the launch of the Angosat-2 satellite, expected in 2020.
