Apple acquires Italian startup Stamplay

Italy's Rome Tre University has confirmed that Apple acquired its startup Stamplay, which offers an API-based backend development platform, for an undisclosed amount. The platform enables web developers to rapidly build and launch full-featured cloud-based web apps without coding and includes popular APIs like Stripe (payments), Sendgrid (email), Twilio (SMS and VoIP) and Pusher (realtime notifications). It was founded by Giuliano Iacobelli and Nicola Mattina of Roma Tre's computer engineering and business economics departments.
