Apple executive to pay EUR 45,000 for unpaid Italy taxes

The head of Apple's Irish-based unit Apple Sales International has been spared a six-month jail sentence in Italy after the company agreed to pay EUR 45,000 for unpaid taxes in the country, according to an unnamed judicial source cited by Reuters. The fine imposed on Michael O'Sullivan is part of an investigation by Milan prosecutors into allegations that Apple failed to pay up to EUR 879 million in corporate taxes, said the source, although a settlement agreement does not imply an admission of guilt under Italian law. The Milan prosecutors have also asked for the case against two managers
