Apple holds 33.6 percent US smartphone market share

Apple held a 33.6 percent share of the US smartphone market in the three months ending in October, down on compared to last year but up on the three months to July, according to Kantar Worldpanel ComTech. During the same period, Samsung retained its top position and showed year-on-year growth for the first time this year. The iPhone 6s accounted for 24.4 percent of iPhone sales in the three months to October, compared to 33 percent for the iPhone 6 in 2014 and 22 percent for the iPhone 5s a year earlier.
