Apple Pay launches in Ireland

Tuesday 7 March 2017 | 09:00 CET | News
The Apple Pay service has launched in Ireland, allowing users of the iPhone 6 or later to make contactless payments in stores. The service also works with the Apple Watch and newer iPads. The first banks to sign up to the service in Ireland are Ulster Bank and KBC. Customers with competing financial institutions can still use the service through Boon, which allows users to add prepaid virtual cards and use them to fund Apple Pay purchases.
