Apple receives more govt data requests in H1

Apple said it received a total 32,342 government data requests in the first half of the year, asking to access 163,823 devices. TechCrunch put the increase in requests at 9 percent from the previous six months. Apple said it provided data about 25,829 devices, or around 80 percent. The most requests came from Germany, 13,704, for about 26,160 devices. The US came next, with 4,587 requests made about 14,937 devices. Rounding out the top five, Australia made 2,357 requests about 3,919 devices, Spain made 2,276 requests about 3,353 devices, and Singapore made 1,689 requests about 8,651 devices.
