Apple to open up app subscriptions to all categories

Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller has announced a series of forthcoming changes to the App Store, including opening up app subscriptions to all product categories, introducing search ads and altering the revenue-sharing model. In an interview with tech website The Verge prior to the start of the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Schiller said the changes are intended to bring a "renewed focus and energy" to the App Store. The subscription fee changes will see Apple take a lower 15 percent cut (instead of 30 percent) if a customer stays
