Arcep assigns 10 MHz more spectrum to Free

French telecom regulator Arcep has assigned a 15 MHz duplex in the 1800 MHz band to Free Mobile, the country's fourth cellular carrier. Arcep added 10 MHz to the 5 MHz duplex the operator had already been assigned in this band. The decision follows through on decisions approved in April 2013 and July this year, which set the terms for Bouygues Telecom, Orange France and Numericable-SFR refarming the band for LTE, and the three carriers reliquishing part of their frequencies so that they may be assigned to Free Mobile.
