Arcep consults on 800 MHz, 2.6 GHz allocation procedure

French telecommunications regulator Arcep has launched a public consultation on the terms and methods of allocating 800 MHz and 2.6 GHz frequencies for 4G services (LTE and mobile WiMAX). The move follows an initial consultation in 2009 and a number of hearings this spring. The deadline for responses is 13 September. Arcep will use responses to finalise its proposal in early autum. It will submit its proposal to the government and parliamentary committee on the digital dividend before launching a tender before the end of the year.
