Arcep implements 'regulatory sandbox' framework to foster new services

French regulator Arcep is seeking applications from candidates, such as telecoms start-ups, for the launch of innovative projects within a special regulatory framework, benefitting from reduced obligations for a period of up to two years. Enabled for the first time by the Digital law passed in 2016, this new 'regulatory sandbox' framework has been created for projects linked to resources such as radio frequencies and mobile numbers, with the aim of fostering innovative products or services in areas including the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile applications.
