Arcep submits position on possible merger with CSA

French telecom authority Arcep has submitted its position to government on its possible merger with audiovisual regulator CSA into a combined entity better adapted to regulating in the two sectors in the internet age. In a copy published on its website Arcep presents three hypotheses for how this could work depending on the government's preferred outcome. Possibilities range from forming a common body to cover common areas to create a regulator with a much broader mandate, such as Ofcom in the UK, which would also include French frequencies agency Anfr.
