ARD to bid for F1 rights - report

Monday 24 July 2017 | 09:44 CET | News
German public broadcaster ARD plans to compete for the rights to show Formula 1 from 2018, reports Faz.net. RTL has held the rights since 1991 and its contract expires at the end of the current season. Liberty Media, the new owner of F1, is reportedly considering a model similar to the UK market, where Sky and Channel 4 share the rights. A decision on the new rights holder is expected in late August or early September.
