ARD, ZDF, Discovery unable to reach Olympics deal - report

Tuesday 21 June 2016 | 17:33 CET | News
German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF have been unable to reach an agreement with US media group Discovery for the rights to show the 2018 Winter and 2020 Summer Olympic Games, reports Manager-Magazin. Discovery is demanding EUR 150 million for the rights, with ARD and ZDF only willing to pay up to EUR 100 million. Sources on both sides indicate that negotiations are now deadlocked, with the broadcasters prepared to walk away if no agreement is reached by the summer.
