Argentina opens tender for rural broadband subsidies

Tuesday 27 December 2016 | 16:43 CET | News
Argentina regulator Enacom has launched a tender for providing fixed internet services in rural areas. Successful applicants will receive support from the universal service fund to bring internet to towns not targeted by existing market players due to their small size, especially towns up to 2,500 inhabitants with poor coverage and villages up to 500 residents with no coverage. Up to 80 percent of costs will be covered, and in total ARS 350 million in financing will be available.
