Argentina to sell stake in Telesur news channel

The government of Argentina decided to divest its share in the Telesur news channel, in which it holds 16 percent since in 2005 when it was created by the then president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez. Hernan Lombardi, Minister of Media and Public Content, confirmed the news to La Nacion, explaining that that the Argentine state is not involved in policy content or the management of the regional signal transmitted from Caracas.
