Argentina to vacate 600 MHz band for mobile services

Argentina's National Communications Agency (Enacom) has decided that all pay-TV operators using the 512-698 MHz frequency band should give it up within two years in order to make space for mobile services, reports Pagina 12. The resolution has already been signed by the head of the agency, Miguel De Godoy, although not yet published in the Official Gazette. The final destination of the frequency band will depend on an auction. The range is already used for free-to-air DTT channels, and those broadcasters are not at risk as the official measure only covers encrypted TV services delivered
