Argentina's mobile ecosystem contributed USD 21 billion to the country's economy in 2015, equivalent to 3.7 percent of national GDP, according to a report by GSMA Intelligence. The contribution is set to reach USD 26 billion by 2020, representing 4.6 percent of projected national GDP, on the back of ongoing investments in mobile broadband networks and services. In fact, the report predicts that the number of 4G connections in Argentina will rise from 3 million in 2015 to 23 million by 2020 thanks to an investment of close to USD 9 billion over the next five years.
