Ariane 5 mission puts SES-17 satellite into space

Satellite operator SES has announced the successful launch of its SES-17 satellite on an Ariane 5 rocket, which lifted off from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana at 23:10 hrs local time on 23 October. Flight VA255 also carried Syracuse-4, a military communications satellite that will serve the needs of the French defence ministry.
