Arris buys SeaWell Networks

Communications services provider Arris has acquired US-based IP video delivery and ad-insertion services provider SeaWell Networks for an undisclosed amount. Arris is integrating SeaWell's adaptive bit rate (ABR) streaming technologies into its Network & Cloud business. The combined portfolio of IP video, multiscreen, and ad insertion services will be the enabler for next-gen TV and advertising services. These services are expected to enhance IP video by enabling new levels of interactivity and personalization. They also will streamline video distribution across a variety of devices.
