Arris Q1 results better than expected on Docsis 3.1 demand, Ruckus takeover

Arris reported a smaller-than-expected loss for the first quarter of USD 0.07 per share, down from USD 0.21 a year earlier. Revenues rose 6 percent to USD 1.578 billion, helped by the takeover of Ruckus from December. On an adjusted basis, profits rose to USD 0.73 per share from USD 0.40 a year ago, better than the company's guidance.
