Arsat-2 satellite to be completed in September 2015

The government of Argentina expects to complete the construction of the Arsat-2 satellite by September 2015. Arsat-2 will be fitted with 26 Ku-band (2 beams) and 10 C-band (hemi beam) equivalent transponders. The satellite's coverage will include Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, the Andean countries and the US. The satellite will be positioned at 81 degrees West. The ArSat-2 is being developed by Argentine company Invap. Last year, French firm Arianespace completed the launch of Arsat-1 satellite.
