ArSat to start migration of services to ArSat 1 satellite

Argentine state-run telecoms firm ArSat will start the migration in January of services it currently offers on the rented AMC-6 satellite to the recently launched ArSat 1, Telam reports. ArSat president Matías Bianchi said that the satellite is currently positioned at 81 degrees west. The full migration process could take several months. The satellite will provide telephone and data transmission, internet access, IP telephony, and DTH services to users across Argentina and the Southern Cone.
