ASA upholds Virgin complaint about Sky 'reliable broadband' ad

Thursday 20 July 2017 | 09:40 CET | News
The UK Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has upheld a complaint made against a Sky commercial by Virgin Media. The Sky advert featured an animated dog playing an online music video and asking friends to come dance. Once a dance begins, the music stops, with the dog saying "Oh no…bad broadband! Bad!". The ad then advises people to switche to "super reliable Sky broadband". Virgin Media said the claims were misleading and could be substantiated.
