Asia and Latin America lead global mobile wallet adoption - study

Mobile wallet adoption has soared in the three years since Apple Pay launched in 2014, with consumers in the US and Europe beginning to catch up with those in fast-growing economies in Asia and Latin America where mobile wallets have already become the dominant payment platform, according to a report from ACI Worldwide. India currently tops the list of countries included in the survey, with 56 percent of consumers saying they pay with a smartphone regularly, followed by Thailand (51%) and Indonesia (47%).
