Asus trims mobile shipments forecast for 2016

Asustek reported revenues for the fourth quarter of 2015 down 2 percent year-on-year to TWD 124 billion. Excluding currency effects, the company said revenue was up 6 percent on an annual basis. Operating profit declined 4 percent to TWD 5.6 billion, while net profit was up 1 percent to TWD 4.5 billion due to less forex losses. Mobile phone and tablet shipments were up a strong 45 percent in the year to 25.0 million, including a more than doubling in smartphone sales to 20.0 million units. PC shipments were down 4 percent over the year to 21.5 million units, including 19.3 million notebooks.
