AT&T launches switched Ethernet over U-verse network

AT&T has launched a Switched Ethernet feature using its U-verse broadband network to increase coverage, shorten provisioning times and add new speeds. The move more than doubles AT&T's local Ethernet footprint. AT&T said it has seen 1,300 percent growth in Switched Ethernet ports from 2010 to 2014 as customer demand grows for services such as last-mile connectivity, connecting multiple offices on a single network or creating a global VPN.
