AT&T Mexico expands 4G network to 36 cities

AT&T has quadrupled the size of its 4G-LTE network over the last four months to reach a total of 36 Mexican cities, cutting the distance with its closest rival Movistar (Telefonica), whose service was due to be expanded to 50 cities by the end of 2015, and market leader Telcel (America Movil) whose 4G service reaches over 65 million users. AT&T, which acquired local operators Iusacell and Nextel Mexico for a combined total of USD 4.4 billion last year, said it would invest USD 3 billion to bring 4G services to 40 million Mexicans by the end of 2015, rising to 75 million by the end of 2016 and
