AT&T Mexico signs weather warning agreement

AT&T Mexico has announced an agreement with local water authority Conagua to issue early warnings to AT&T subscribers of severe weather events, above cyclones and hurricanes. Under the terms of the deal, AT&T and Conagua will work together to improve the accuracy and timing of SMS alerts with a view to reducing the risks to customers in a given area. AT&T said it sent over 1.5 million SMS to subscribers in Jalisco, Colima, Nayarit and Michoacan to update them on the progress of hurricane Patricia back in October 2015.
