AT&T has opened a new Foundry innovation centre in Mexico City with a view to developing software and connectivity technology for emerging markets. The centre is located inside AT&T Mexico’s corporate headquarters in the capital and is the first Foundry facility to launch in Latin America. AT&T Foundry entrepreneurial facilities work in 12-week sprint cycles to design and develop new applications and platforms that benefit the company and its customers. The operator has opened locations in 6 cities around the world since 2011, working with developers, startups and other companies to identify new opportunities and quickly build and test prototypes.

The new Mexico City centre was inaugurated by the country’s undersecretary of communications Edgar Olvera Jimenez and AT&T Mexico CEO Kelly King. It will focus on areas such as IoT, cybersecurity, connected healthcare and smart cities.
