AT&T to invest MXN 4.3 bln in Mexico City this year

Friday 23 October 2015 | 14:59 CET | News
AT&T will invest MXN 4.3 billion (around USD 250 million) in Mexico City alone in 2015 as part of its effort to compete with dominant operator America Movil, reports local daily Milenio, citing AT&T Mexico CEO Thaddeus Arroyo. Speaking at the launch of the "It Can Wait" driving awareness campaign, Arroyo said the investment would create 7,600 jobs, with much of the resources devoted to modernising the mobile network and bringing 4G services to Mexico City. The company launched 4G-LTE services in six Mexican cities earlier this month, but not in the country's capital.
