AT&T to pay off USD 5.3 billion in debt early

AT&T announced plans to pay of USD 5.3 billion in debt early. The US operator issued notices for the redemption in full of all the outstanding principal of six series of bonds totaling USD 4.3 billion and prepayment of term loans totaling USD 1.0 billion. The company said this is part of ongoing efforts to reduce debt and improve its credit quality.
