AT&T said that the US Tyndall Air Force Base will become the first military base to light up with its 5G service, from mid-2020. AT&T added it is helping the base rebuild its tech infrastructure after last year's Hurricane Michael and wants it to become an "Air Force Base of the Future." AT&T said its 5G network will provide the base with higher network speeds, wide-scale continuous video surveillance and analytics for increased security, AR/VR for training purposes and for near real-time inventory and aircraft schematics.
