AT&T using drones to inspect Hurricane Harvey damage

Thursday 31 August 2017 | 09:54 CET | News
AT&T announced that it's using drone technology to inspect mobile towers impacted by Hurricane Harvey in southeast Texas. With cars and trucks unable to reach the affected areas because of flooding the company has deployed a fleet of 25 drones to determine the hurricane impact on its network. The drones can take HD video and photos of equipment, components and cabling on a site, allowing engineers to remotely view damage safely from the ground in real time, said the company.
