AT&T wants to launch exclusive content for connected cars

AT&T hopes to launch exclusive content for connected cars later this year, Chris Penrose, the senior VP of emerging devices, told Reuters. AT&T has signed up eight automaker partners, including General Motors, Audi and Ford Motor, to bring internet access to cars. The goal is to offer free or paid content exclusively for connected car users and to sell more data. AT&T wants to bring new content like "special" shows or gaming levels on phones and tablets in connected cars, Penrose said. This would be in addition to subscription services such as Hulu and Netflix that users can already stream on
