ATS to offer satellite residential service targeting under-served areas in Algeria

ATS (Algerie Telecom Satellite), a subsidiary of Groupe Telecom Algerie (GTA), will launch in September a residential broadband service based on the Alcomsat-1 satellite platform, reports Agence Ecofin quoting ATS CEO Mohamed Anouar Benabdelouahad. With the new offering, the operator will target particularly consumers in under-served areas, with a subscription price that will be slightly higher than the cost of an ADSL connection.
