Australia starts Triple Zero system review

Australia's Ministry of Communications will start a review of the national Triple Zero (000) operator. First established in 1961, the Triple Zero emergency call service answers calls to 000 from anywhere in Australia and transfers them to the relevant state and territory emergency service organizations. The Ministry says emerging technologies are creating new opportunities for the Triple Zero service beyond the current 'voice-only' service. The review will study the future direction of the service, and will analyze possible modifications that need to be made to national operator arrangements
