Australia telecom services sales staff fails to check customers' payment capacity – study

In-store telecommunications services sales staff may not be adequately checking that customers have the capacity to pay for the services they are purchasing, according to a study from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). The ACMA commissioned a shadow shopping study to look at how Australia's three main operators have responded to increased industry rules that came into effect in 2019.
