Australian ACCC to start regulating SMS termination services

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will continue to regulate mobile voice termination services for five more years and start regulating SMS termination services for the first time. The regulator made the decision after concluding its inquiry into the regulation of mobile terminating access services (MTAS). The regularor expects regulation will reduce SMS termination rates reduce and lower SMS prices for consumers.
